This year is especially meaningful for Moni's Diamond, as we proudly celebrate our fifteenth year as a supporter of the Anna Ball in Balatonfüred.
An evening rooted in more than two centuries of tradition
The history of the Anna Ball began in 1825, and it has since become one of the most distinguished events in Hungarian social life. Few European traditions have preserved their original character so effortlessly while continuing to resonate with each new generation.
This year's 201st Anna Ball will welcome approximately 550 guests to the historic Anna Grand Hotel. Twenty-three eighteen-year-old debutantes from Balatonfüred have accepted the city's invitation to attend, making the evening both a continuation of a cherished tradition and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Anna Festival, held alongside the ball, will once again fill Balatonfüred with cultural events over several days, including an opera gala, the Night of Serenades, the Heart Fishing tradition and a variety of open-air programmes, as announced at the official press conference.
The opening dance will once again be performed by dancers from the Hungarian State Opera, while the musical programme will feature the Chamber Orchestra of the 100-Member Gypsy Orchestra, violinist Zoltán Kalló and Prima Award-winning pianist and singer Károly Nyári. Visitors will also be able to watch the ceremonial opening of the ball live on a giant screen on the Tagore Promenade, allowing the entire town to share in the occasion.
One of the ball's most cherished traditions is that every lady attending wears a numbered Herend porcelain heart throughout the evening, a keepsake that has become one of the event's defining symbols.
